Everest Region: This region known as the Solu Khumbu is known around the world as the famous home of the world's highest mountain. Mt. Everest, or Sagarmatha as the Nepalese call it, rises 8,848 meters into the sky. The hike to the base camp attracts trekkers from all over the globe. Eco-Trek runs 3 versions of treks in the Everest region with many possibilities to add extra days to your trip. All the treks described start and end in the closest airstrip to Everest in the town of Lukla. If you are looking for a much longer trek in this region we can start treks in the town of Jiri which is 5 days away from  Lukla.* Namche + Tengpoche Trek : This trek heads from Lukla to the Shepa towns up north. We spend time in mountain village of Namche Bazaar which was a famous trading center between Tibet and Nepal. From Namche we head up to the holy village of Tengpoche. This has long been the religious centre for all inhabitants of the Solu Khumbu area. There are numerous shrines and a beautiful monastery that sits at 3870 meters. You will take your time heading back to Lukla and there are many options for extra side trips. This trek takes 8 days up with some up and down hiking. * Lukla to Gokyo Lake Trek : This trek includes the visits to Namche and Tengpoche and adds an incredible hike to Gokyo lake. This trek gives you plenty of beautiful views of Everest and other nearby giants. The Gokyo lake area is surrounded by mountainous valleys, alpine lakes, and numerous glaciers. This trek is less crowded than others in the Everest region and takes 14 days to complete including travel to and from Kathmandu. This moderate to difficult trek reaches a high of 5000 meters. * Lukla to Kala Pattar / Basecamp: This trek also goes through Namche and Tengpoche then heads toward Mt. Everest. Exciting suspension bridges hanging over raging rivers and long uphill hiking lets you know your approaching the highest mountain in the world.  Groups then head toward the small mountain of Kala Pattar which sits across from Everest and Has the most spectacular views of the mountain. Most groups then start the trek back to Lukla but if being at the actual base camp is what you want it will add an extra day to the trip. The trek from Lukla to Kala Pattar to Lukla takes  a total of 14 days and reaches an elevation of 5545 meters.
